May is recognized as Better Speech & Hearing Month, a time to raise awareness about communication disorders and hearing health.

Each year, Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) dedicates the month of May to increasing public understanding of communication health. This annual campaign highlights the importance of early detection and intervention, as well as the essential role speech-language pathologists and audiologists play in supporting individuals of all ages to communicate effectively.
