CMHA Mental Health Week: May 4–10, 2026
From May 4–10, communities across Canada will recognize Mental Health Week, led by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). This year marks the 75th anniversary of this important week dedicated to breaking down stigma, encouraging people to reach out for support, and reminding us that mental health is part of overall health.
Mental health matters — for our students, staff, and families. Mental Health Week is a chance to check in with ourselves and each other, start meaningful conversations, and learn more about the supports available in our community.
This week is about more than awareness. It’s about creating school environments where everyone feels safe, supported, and understood. Small actions — listening, showing kindness, asking how someone is really doing — can make a big difference.
National Child and Youth Mental Health Day: May 7, 2026
On Thursday, May 7, we also recognize National Child and Youth Mental Health Day. It’s an opportunity to shine a light on the unique challenges children and youth may face and the importance of early support, connection, and care.
Let’s continue working together to build a culture of understanding and compassion in our schools and community.
