Free Transit Now Available to Youth in Brandon

Brandon youth can now ride Brandon Transit for free, thanks to a new provincial program that is expected to benefit nearly 8,000 young people in the community.

The Manitoba government announced today that it is investing more than $1 million to provide free transit for youth in Brandon. The program is being delivered in partnership with the City of Brandon and Brandon School Division.

Through the Ride Ready Pass Program, free public transit is available to eligible youth ages 6 to 17, as well as registered high school students up to age 21. The program is intended to help students travel safely and independently to school, work and other activities.

How Students Can Get Their Ride Ready Pass

Brandon School Division schools are distributing Ride Ready Passes during September and October. Parents/guardians who would like their child to participate must provide consent by completing and returning the Ride Ready Pass Program Parent/Guardian Consent Form to their child’s school.
