Indigenous Education
We acknowledge that Brandon School Division is located on Treaty 2 land, the unceded territory of the Dakota, and the homelands of the Red River Métis.
At Prairie Hope High School, we recognize the importance of deepening our understanding of Indigenous culture and identity as we move forward along a path of Truth and Reconciliation.
We have an Indigenous Academic Achievement Educational Assistant as well as a teacher responsible for the Grade 12 elective course Current Topics in First Nation, Métis and Inuit Studies. Together with Brandon School Division's Indigenous Education Learning Specialist, we strive to plan activities and participate in events to strengthen connections to Indigenous culture within our school and greater community.
