Classroom Teachers
The Brandon School Division recruits teachers for the following grade levels/subject areas:

To be considered by the Brandon School Division for a teaching position an individual must be certified to teach in the Province of Manitoba, or must be eligible for certification to teach in the Province of Manitoba. Recruitment
All vacant teaching positions are posted on our website at Employment Opportunities with a notification in the Saturday edition of the Brandon Sun. The web postings include all relevant details, including description of the assignment(s) available, school/location, full-time equivalency, term of employment, etc. The website is updated once a week, prior to the close of business on Friday.
Applications
Applications to teach are received online, in direct response to open postings only. To apply, click the Apply link and follow the instructions provided under the Instructions tab. The online application process will require the attachment of a cover letter, a comprehensive resume, Manitoba Teacher's Certificate, transcript(s), and most recent teacher evaluation or student teaching report. It will also require the completion of information regarding education, experience, and contact information for three teaching-related references.
Selection
Applications are reviewed by the Director of Human Resources and forwarded to the appropriate Principal/Supervisor (Selection Committee Chairperson) for final short listing and interview. Note that only those candidates selected for an interview are contacted. Following interview , the Selection Committee Chairperson submits his/her recommendation for employment to the Director of Human Resources for approval by the Superintendent. An offer of employment is made to the successful candidate by the Director of Human Resources as soon as possible. Once an offer of employment is accepted, all other candidates who were selected for interview are notified.
Substitute Teachers
Brandon School Division substitute teachers are represented by the Brandon Teachers' Association Local of the Manitoba Teachers' Society. (Click here to view the Collective Agreement.)
Recruitment
Applications to substitute teach are received from July to April of each school year in direct response to the open posting on our website at Employment Opportunities.
Applications
The application process is similar to that outlined above for regular teaching staff, and applications are received online. Applicants for substitute teaching are asked to provide three written teaching-related references on the forms provided (download the form by clicking the Request for Confidential Reference Form link provided in the job posting).
Selection
Applications are reviewed by the Director of Human Resources and candidates are notified by telephone, letter, or email (if provided) of a date and time for interview. All candidates selected for interview are contacted as to the results of their interview.
